About Us

Oshun’s Garden was born out of a need for spaces designed for and by Black women.

2021

Oshun's Garden became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our mission broadened the definition of violence to include interpersonal and structural violence.

The organization completed its first service/aid project in support of the Eastern Shore Pregnancy Center.

2020

The Founding Board of Directors met to establish the foundation and structure of Oshun's Garden as an entity.

The Board produced our first awareness programing during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

2019

100 women gathered at the inaugural Brunch in Oshun's Garden. Discussions and post-event feedback forms revealed the need for consistent and targeted education and outreach regarding sexual and relationship violence in the Black community.

our story

Today, Oshun's Garden is the regional leader on Black women's issues.
